This whole series starts out rather young adult-ish but it keeps me interested to find out what happens next to this kid. I do like the main character. The female characters are strong but not to much. Each has a distinct personality and I like that. The set up was good and the description is good especially because it changes. You feel as though you are travelling which is a nice touch. Whoever edits these needs to pay attention. A lot of typos noted. I find that happens with the Kindle books. I am not going to stop reading a series because of it. Some people do. They are the same typos I make myself.Tags : A Stolen Crown (Book of One series 2) - Kindle edition by Jordan Baker. A Stolen Crown Book of One series 2 eBook Jordan Baker Reviews
The storyline is good. Needs editing...BADLY! Normally I would not get the second book in a series with the lack of editing that this book has, however, I find myself curious as to where the characters will lead me next, and thus will be ordering the next book. I do hope this author has found an editor for their other books. I had to reread numerous lines to make sense of the wording.
Great read. Nicely told story with interesting characters. Would have been a 5 if not for the poor editing. Frustrating to be reading along and stumble over a sentence that makes no sense or a word mistakenly used for another word that sounds similar but has a different meaning.
Still, it was a very solid 4.
This is a wonderfully arranged tale with a multitude of content for every interest. Sadly, whomever is responsible for the editing has failed this author. There are areas within this story that are so horribly transcribed that the content cannot hold the readers attention.
Interesting, have no idea what happens next. I'm not really fond of cliffhangers but then I'm not really qualified to be an author nor a critic . The storyline is pretty good some parts are common or familiar other parts catch me completely by surprise which I guess is a good thing. The author is doing a good job and getting better all the time so I will download the next book in a few and see where it goes from there.
Great story line! Be sure to buy and read the books in sequence! I started with book 6 then realized mistake. Bought all books and started with #1. Excellent character development and now back to #6. If you like Epic Fantasy you will enjoy the Book of One series!
Well, where O where to start. I guess editting is a good place. The book starts off better in that area than the previous but it does not last. Sooner rather than later we get treated to the same editting issues as the previous book. The story progresses at a slow pace at the start but then picks up and races to the finish line. While the story is still interesting enough it is getting increasingly hurt by the way the author is telling it.
The author has increased the number of POV characters. We get thrown from one set of characters to another, from one nation to that one. You will follow one character or another for a good bit then it will switch and you may not see that first one again for some time, if at all. Aaron, the main character of the first book does not really join the story until about the halfway mark. Instead we are treated to more of Brian who i just dont care about. The story has expanded and i dont know how it will hold up being expanded so much so quickly.
Other things to note are that the book is short. So that POV becomes a bit more of an issue than a longer book. Also the price increased, not really a big deal but something to keep in mind. Ill probably buy book three but its not set in stone. If it doesnt come out in a few months or so I wouldnt have any problem putting the series down.
I enjoyed the story's flow and characters. Keeps you reading to see what is going to happen to them next. There were a few predictable spots and yet in other places where I was sure what was coming next, I was happily wrong.
I did become irritated with the editing!! Multiple grammar and spelling errors. In one chapter it's Meer Island and in the next it's Mear Island. If your going to make up a name,at least spell it the same throughout the book.
Still a good read with engaging characters I want to learn more about. I can picture the world created for them and have little trouble believing it is a real place for them. I hope you enjoy it as I have!! Moving on to the next one!!!
